The best AI visibility tools and agencies in 2026

Quick answer

If you want a dashboard and you already know what to change, buy Rankscale for engine coverage or Otterly.ai for the cheapest per-engine answers. If you want the answer to change, the tool is the first step of a longer job: pages, mentions and outreach. That second job is what an agency does, and we are one, so we are on this page too - the disclosure below says so in plain words.

How this list is ranked

Five things, all of them checkable from the vendor's own documentation rather than from its marketing:

  1. How many AI engines it queries. Four engines and seventeen engines are different products, and one of them will tell you something the other cannot.
  2. How many prompts you get at the entry price. A prompt is one question put to one engine. Fifteen prompts is a sample; several hundred is a tracking programme.
  3. Whether it shows each engine's answer separately. A blended visibility score hides the fact that ChatGPT names you and Google's AI Overview has never heard of you.
  4. Whether it shows the sources the answer cited. Without that you cannot see which pages are winning the answer, which is the whole point of looking.
  5. Whether it fixes anything. No platform on this page does. That column is empty across the board, and it is the honest reason agencies exist.

Prices are what the vendor published on 26 October 2026. They change, and a price in this table is a snapshot, not a quote.

A note on the empty column: no AI visibility platform on this page edits your pages or earns you a mention. They measure. That is a real and useful job - it is just half of the job.

Rankscale

The widest engine list at the lowest entry price. Credits are spent per engine query, so 120 credits is roughly 480 answers a month at the entry tier, and the schedule runs from hourly to monthly.

Figures taken from the vendor's own pricing page, 26 October 2026: rankscale.ai/pricing.

Otterly.ai

The cheapest way to see per-engine answers: ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Perplexity and Copilot at $29 for 15 prompts. Claude, Gemini and Google AI Mode cost extra, and 100 prompts is $189/mo.

Ahrefs Brand Radar

Different shape to the rest: 496 million prompts modelled from real search demand, so there is no setup and no prompt list of your own until the $199/mo custom tier. Use it once your brand already appears in AI answers and you want the size of the prize.

Semrush AI Visibility Toolkit

Mentions from ChatGPT, Google AI, Gemini and Perplexity, with prompt research and monthly, weekly or daily scheduling. Sits inside Semrush, so it is the easy choice if the team already lives there.

Profound

The widest engine coverage we could verify - up to nine answer engines, including ChatGPT Shopping - but the pricing is a credit model with no published entry price. The trial is 50 prompts a day for a week across ChatGPT, Gemini and AI Overviews.

Peec AI

Classifies each prompt as informational, commercial or transactional and tracks visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice daily against competitors, with source and citation-share detail. Pricing is not published on its site.

Also worth a look in the same category, without numbers we could verify: Scrunch, which frames the problem as AI customer experience, and AthenaHQ, which pairs tracking with agents that act on the findings. We have not tested either, so we are not pricing them in the table.

What none of these tools will do for you

A dashboard tells you that ChatGPT does not name you. It cannot make ChatGPT name you. The work that changes an answer is unglamorous and it is mostly writing: pages that answer the exact question a buyer types, mentions of the brand on other sites, and the structured data that lets an engine read a page without guessing.

The research on what actually moves an AI answer points the same way. Ahrefs studied 75,000 brands and found that brand web mentions correlate with AI Overview visibility at 0.664, while backlinks correlate at 0.218. Brands in the top quartile of mentions earned up to ten times more AI mentions than the rest, and brands in the bottom half averaged zero to three. You cannot buy your way into that with a tracker.

The agencies, including us

Disclosure: YourCite publishes this page and appears on it. We have put the platforms first, ranked ourselves in a separate section rather than at the top, and printed the method so you can discount us accordingly.

YourCite

We are the agency behind this site. The work is: ask the questions a buyer asks, on each engine separately, read what the answer actually says, then change the pages and earn the mentions until the answer moves. We publish the measurement rather than a score, because a score is easy to argue with and a quoted answer is not.

Our weakness, stated plainly: we run dozens of prompts per client, not a database of hundreds of millions. If you want coverage at Ahrefs' scale you should buy Ahrefs. If you want somebody to change what the answer says, that is the other job, and it is the one we do.

Which one should you buy

What buyers ask about this list

What is the difference between AI visibility tools and AI visibility agencies?

A tool runs prompts against AI engines and reports where you appear. An agency does that and then changes the pages, the mentions and the outreach until the answer moves. Every platform on this page stops at the report. That is not a criticism, it is the category boundary - and it is the reason a dashboard on its own rarely changes what an AI engine says about you.

How many prompts do I need to track?

Enough to cover the questions a buyer asks before they choose, which for most small businesses is between 20 and 60. Below that you are sampling noise; above it you are usually paying for prompts no buyer types. What matters more than the number is whether the tool shows you each engine's answer separately.

Why does per-engine reporting matter?

Because the engines disagree. In the audit behind this site, the same question named different companies on different engines, and one engine returned no AI answer at all. A blended score hides that, and the fix for a missing ChatGPT answer is not the same as the fix for a missing Google AI Overview.

Do backlinks matter for AI visibility?

Less than mentions do. Ahrefs analysed 75,000 brands and found brand web mentions correlate with AI Overview visibility at 0.664 while backlinks correlate at 0.218. Backlinks still decide Google rankings - they are simply not the strongest signal for being named in an AI answer.

Who is number one on this list?

We are not, and we did not rank ourselves first. This page ranks platforms on what their own documentation proves - engines, prompts at the entry price, per-engine answers, cited sources - and on those measures Rankscale and Otterly win on coverage per dollar. We are an agency, so we sit in a different section, and the disclosure above says plainly what that costs you as a reader.
